I guess I'm not a master at Lemon Bars. I think I've only made them one other time. But next time I will go with a little less lemon. But, the crust is awesome!!! Best part definatly! Overall, I thought they were good and so did everyone else who had one. I will most likely use the crust recipe again but with a different filling. Pretty Good.

Wow is all I have to say. I just made these and they came out fantastic. I didnt let them cool down completely but I just couldnt wait. The only thing that I hope is right is they are very creamy in the middle, like pudding consistency. The top is done and the crust is done, its just the middle thats like pudding. I baked the crust for 15 min and it was done. Then I baked it for another 35 and it came out perfect. For the last 5 min I put tinfoil on it to prevent too much browning. Definately A+ ! :

I thought these were great! My flour got clumped so I strained the curd before baking, but otherwise followed the recipe spot on. I thought they were delicious, but I like lemony gooey goodness. I will say, my roommate drooled his head off when I flipped the bars out of the pan and you could smell the shortbread. It smelled incredible and tasted buttery and fantastic!

I should start off by saying that I'm not a huge fan of things that are TOO lemon-y but these bars are the opposite of that! They are the perfect blend of tart and sweet. If I had to sum them up in one word it would be: FANTASTIC! I decided to try this recipe out for a spring houswarming party this past Saturday and was welcomed with some rave reviews! I should've known better b/c everything Ina creates is simply fabulous!!! :

I have made many lemon bars before, and these are without a doubt the best I've ever made, or eaten! Ina, I can't thank you enough...you always come through!

This was so easy to make. the crust is so tasty~cooked and uncooked!
the middle layer was either too sweet ( i have a huge sweet tooth too~maybe decrease sugar by 1 cup but would consistency of filling be ok still? or was it tooooo tart and made you want to pucker up?
way better than a boxed lemon bar recipe though of course!

Mine came out a little too gooey so I cooked for an extra 5 min. I think I'm going to check my oven to make sure the temperature is accurate. They still came out a little gooey so I put them in the fridge which helped the consistency. The flavor was really good! The best I've made so far. Ina makes amazing desserts!

These were a HIT to say the least..The only altercation I did was to reduce the sugar by 1/4 cup. They make such a pretty display and tasted magnificent !! A definite Keeper !!

These lemon bars were so scrumptious, I will make them again for sure. The only thing bad is that they are incredibly addictive.

Dear Ina, I must say you are my favorite chef of all times besides the galloping gormet with Graham Kerr, I also was a little worried about my setup with the filling, but boy was I wrong, I will never let that enter my mind again, The setup was perfect with out having to add anything to it. You have this rated as an intermediate level recipe. I found this recipe very easy to make and after making my lemon bars I wished you were here to try one with me they turned out fab. I will never dought you again Ina.. and I love the guests you have on the show. My other half said that your lemon bars are better than his mom's and for him to say that was a heck of a compliment for me and you.. Thanks again yours truly Del Stahr, W.Elmira NY
P.S. I am leaving to see my mother-inlaw today and I am taking my lemon bars with me for her and my father-inlaw to try... I can't wait for them to tell me what they think of them
