Best lemon bars ever! The shortbread crust makes them rich and the fresh lemon zest and juice make them tangy.

Ina's Lemon Bars are easy to make and the perfect crowd pleaser! The fresh lemon zest really give these bars that extra kick. Although her recipe calls for a "baking sheet", I found that using a 9x13x2 baking dish is the trick. A standard bar pan will not hold all of the filling, whereas the baking dish will. Wonderful for spring/summer barbeques! Delicious!

If you love lemon, this recipe will WOW you. It's very easy to make. I cheated on the crust, to make it even easier. I let the butter come to room temperature, so that it was very, very soft. After blending all the ingredients for the crust in the mixer, I scooped the dough into a lightly buttered tart pan (one with a removable bottom and used a spatula to spread it along the bottom and up the sides. I then followed the rest of the recipe as instructed. After baking with the filling, I removed the "tart" from the pan. Rather than cutting into bars, I sliced it into thin wedges. DELICIOUS! It got rave reviews from the family. This recipe is a keeper.

Ina's Lemon Bars are in a league of their own. With each bite is a pause of lemon tartness that compares to no lemon bar I have ever had.

These are the best lemon bars I have ever had. Next time I might use 3/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup extra water because they were a bit too tart.

I have now made this recipe 4 or 5 times. Its pretty easy, but have had similar issues with browning. i think it may be the pan or the amount of the filling. truth be told though, they are absolutely delcious and my friends have asked for them on a regular basis. ina is the best.
