Those Lemon Bars are really good. They're nice and sweet. For the summer time they will make a perfect refreshing dish.

Ina's lemon bars are light, lemony,
like having a lemon meringue pie without
the meringue. My daughter loved the
crust, I ate about 4 of them...at one
time...and a friend wanted more. Thanks
Ina...we love your recipes!

These squares were awesome....rich buttery crust and luscious lemony topping. Noting the reviews about the sides burning, as soon as I noticed them starting to brown, I cut a large piece of tinfoil with the middle cut out and placed it over the pan so the sides were covered. It was delicious and the lemon topping had a soft creamy texture. I made the crust with non-dairy margerine and it was still delicious.

They were kind of thin..the lemon part that is. They were really good though. Very tart. I would reduce the sugar a bit.
I liked the crust.
I baked for 35 minutes and it was still jiggly. Not sure why.

Thanks Ina for this and all your recipes. These are terrific and the recipe is a keeper. I used only 1 tablespoon of lemon peel grated as that was enough for our tastes, but if you really love the tartness of lemon use 2 tablespoons. Ina is one cook that I can count on for consistent results every time.

I am not a baker. However, when I make one of Ina Garten's recipes I sure feel like one. I just made the lemon bars for the first time and the only way they could be easier to make is if you had someone else do it for you. And the smell is just fabulous.

Best recipe I have found to duplicate mom's old one! The crust was so tender and the filling is perfect. Beautiful, everyone loved them.
