These came out perfect! The only revision I made was that I used 1/2 cup less sugar because I prefer tanginess to sweetness and it was absolutely yummy! Thanks Ina for another great recipe!

Make lemon bars every year for 4th of July but wanted a new recipe. This recipe was DELICIOUS! Absolutely the best I have ever found. I had not read any of the reviews before today - agree it was a little too sweet so will try the 1/4 less sugar although was thinking 1/2 cup. Was pleasantly surprised by the top crust. My whole family loved these! Ready to make another batch.

Good, though not great. We heeded most of the comments about sweetness adding 1/4 cup less sugar and it was delicious. I found the crust a bit disappointing. I think if I had cooked it a little longer it may have been better.

Fabulous lemon bars! I used meyer lemons from my tree and the taste was superb. Very rich and delicious. Have taken them to potlucks and never bring any home.

These lemon bars were very, very good--very simple to make, and delicious lemon flavor. The only thing I would have changed is the amount of sugar. As is, I found it a BIT too sweet. I'm going to make it again with this adjustment and I think they'll be perfect! The shortbread crust was really delicious...a perfect base for this yummy dessert.

I made this as part of a dessert assortment for a rehearsal dinner for a wedding. I loved this recipe, especially the large amount of lemon pudding/curd on top. Just the right amount of tang to sweet. Go for it! Make it!

I love every thing Ina does! My husband who is a huge lemon fan loved these which gives them the seal of approval. I've learned a lot from Ina about baking and I used all her tips and tricks like room temp ingredients etc for the dessert and it came out perfect. The only adjustment I made was use 1/4c less sugar in the filling because I ran out and honestly I would make it that way again. I made them for a beach picnic and they were all gone within an hour; good thing I saved a couple at home! I would definitely make these again. Thanks Ina!

For me personally these are just good, not excellent. A tad on the sweet side coupled with so much tang, gives me shivers. The crust is on the hard side and not impressive to this picky baker : I can only eat a bite or two. However, my fiance and my brother are big lemon fans and LOVE these bars. I made them twice, once with just sugar on top and once with whipping cream and they were mostly gone on the first day. I personally like them with confectioner's sugar only. I'm making them again next weekend for everyone. One other thing, the egg smell is too strong and I am not a fan of this. I will try and use more lemon juice to tone the egg down.
