This is the best lemon cake ever! I baked it for my mom's birthday and it was a complete success. I also did Ina's lemon curd to fill it and they complement each other perfectly. The only thing different I did was to use low fat milk with some lemon, because I didn't had any buttermilk and didn't had time to go to the store either. Next time I will do it with the proper buttermilk.

Another GREAT recipe from Barefoot Contessa. This is fabulous. Love to serve with plain yoghurt and fresh berries during summertime. My husband loves lemon cake and this is the best!!

This was great although I did make a few changes. I substituted orange juice and zest for the lemons (didn't have lemons on hand and never used the syrup (forgot that step. I did use the glaze and put it on twice. This was so great I am making it again today the same way I did before. I am not sure if I will try it with lemons, because it was so good with the oranges.

So Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly. My kids loved it. It is really great the second day as the cake seems to get sweeter and a little more dense. So good.

i thought this was a good recipe, but not a great recipe. I usually love ina's recipe's, but this one turned out slightly dry and lacked flavor. Most of the flavor came from the glaze that i put on the cake after it cooled..I even poked holes throughout the cake when adding the syrup, but for some reason it didn't penetrate throughout the entire cake. I still enjoyed the cake, but if it weren't for the glaze, it would have been pretty bland.

Great Recipe....I used a meat marinade syringe to distribute the lemon/sugar syrup into the cake.

First time making a lemon cake. I made this cake for a birthday for a collegue of mine and it was a hit! I found the recipe quite easy to follow and the cake came out beautiful! So full of flavor and moist!
I didn't make the syrup or the glaze instead I made a Lemon Cream cheese frosting to pair up with the cake...it was AMAZING! I will make this recipe for sure again.
