This dish was AMAZING! I made this the other night and my husband and daughter could not get enough. I was glad that I made extra croutons-they were so good. I did not add much salt/pepper on the croutons because I had seasoned the chicken really well. Ina scores big with this one. This was so easy and delicious that it will be a "go to" recipe - even for entertaining.

I made this last night and my husband loved it! It was my 1st time roasting a whole chicken and it turned out amazing! Super simple but was juicy and had a great (not over powering flavor....definitely going to make this again.

This is absolutely a great go-to recipe! It's so easy but delicious! I take a short cut on long days and get a good rotisserie chicken from the store and warm it with chicken stock and lemon juice and some dry white wine. I am picky about liking mainly white meat chicken breast- so I like that I can carve the chicken, and place it over the croutons and then pour that liquid from the cheicken over it. I could easlily make this once a week. Its amazing. I've made it alot for people who are sick, just had a baby- becuase it's SO comforting!! You have to try it!

This chicken recipe has become a staple in my kitchen. It is absolutely delicious, elegant and simple to make. Everyone I have served it to requests it again and again. I have also used this basic recipe with bone-in chicken breasts and it turns out wonderfully - simply lay the chicken breasts bone side down on the onions, coat with butter and seasonings and then lay lemon slices on top - bake and enjoy!

Although I really like the simplicity and elegance of this recipe, and I honestly love everything about Ina, I believe the recipe, and associated video, is lacking in detail about carving the roasted chicken. I also like to add fresh herbs such as thyme or rosemary inside the cavity of the chicken along with the lemons.

Thanks again Ina! This is an excellent roast chicken recipe. My family loves the crunchy croutons. Sometimes I add herbs or apples, this is a very easy recipe and also easy to improvise and use other ingredients.
