Probably the best Lemon Drop I have ever tasted. I used Stolichnaya for the Vodka! I didn't have superfine sugar so I used my Magic Bullet to make it Superfine, stopping before it turned into powdered sugar! I love it and thanks!

Holy smokes, Ina! This packs a punch! I am pretty buzzed as I type this and I have only had one! lol My husband, who can handle stronger drinks than I, thinks this is a wee bit on the strong side, as well. This has a good base flavour, but it benefits from a splash of tonic water. I tend to like my drinks a tad sweet so I also added a splash of grenadine. Those two additions made it perfect (and pretty to my tastes. Next time, I would cut the vodka down. Seriously, this is strong. I can't feel my face!
We are drinking this as we make Ina's Perfect Roast Chicken, so we shall see how that turns out. Hopefully we weren't so buzzed that we put the chicken in the fridge to cook.

Yum, Make sure you use superfine sugar and there will be no crystals in your drink. Just shake shake shake. Salute!

Made these for my Christmas party, they turned out great. I heated the lemon and sugar so the sugar dissolved, refrigerated the mixture until right before all the guests arrived and then added the vodka. I used 2 cups of good quality vodka (you don't even taste the vodka, so be careful they will sneak up on you, it makes all the difference.

This drink is killer good!! Great for summer on the deck! I agree with other comments regarding 2 cups of vodka being too strong! I made the receipe with same equal parts lemon and sugar, and only 1 cup vodka. This was just right (just less servings! Also, I mixed the lemon and sugar together before adding iced vodka and avoided the problem with sugar crystals on the bottom. To make it better...(it didn't seem cold enough for me, I iced the glasses prior to serving. Voila! Now ready for "flip flop" lemon drop party! (pedicures and lemon drops! Thanks Ina!! You want to come??

I love love love Ina Garten and all of her recipes but this recipe calls for way too much vodka. The sugar didn't dissolve very well ( there were still a lot of grains at the bottom of the glass. I added more fresh lemon juice and some cut up watermelon to dilute the vodka which turned out to be delicious.

Here is is a twist on an old favorite! Using grape or cherry flavored vodka is a definate plus to this great recipe! Also using crushed ice will help the overall enjoyment with bits of ice crystals keeping the martini cold while in the glass.
