I've been DYING to make this for over a year.... I was sooo excited to make it..... I'm a total foodie, love seafood and cheese combo, I enjoy cooking tremendously and this was just out and out disgusting. I'm so disappointed I could cry. My rating? Negative 5 stars.

I love lobster mac n' cheese, but this was honestly terrible. It received such high ratings, however I did not like the flavor in addition to thinking it was too "nutmeg-ish." I will have to keep searching for my favorite version of this.

Hi, this recipe looks great but does anyone know whether you can make it in advance - say, a day or so - and refrigerate? I was going to have a dinner party and was thinking I could make the whole thing the day before and do the last step with the breadcrumbs and the oven 30 minutes before we were ready to eat. Would that work?

couldn't find cooked lobster so i used small 3-4 oz lobster tails. i cooked them like scampi. guess i sliced them to small cause they disappeared. i used heavy cream and put the tail shells into the cream as i warmed it. all in all it was delicious. and expensive. i might make it next time with shrimp and maybe good swiss or fontina. between the lobster and cheese it was $50. i can see where folks might try to use alternative items so they can enjoy more often. i made one half of the recipe and still had enough for 6 hardy eaters.

Can this be made in ramekin dishes instead of gratin dishes?

Liked this recipe very much. One question. Would it be better to cook the lobster to a rare, or medium rare state, and let it finish off in the mac and cheese? Made half a recipe, and was enough for dinner for 2 nights. Added Shiitake mushrooms. Next time just a baby bit of bacon??
