This is absolutely delicious. I cut the recipe in half and it worked fine. It is a little more work than the usual mac & cheese but so worth it.

This was absolutely decadent. Ina you've outdone yourself. My 16 year old son was giving it away to his friends and family. My husband loved it and wants me to make some more to take to work. It was a huge hit. Used lots of pans, but it was worth it.

I really enjoyed this recipe, it was very flavorful. Usually I ignore when recipes call for unsalted butter and just use salted, but in this case I wish I hadn't because it was a bit salty. Next time I will definitely use the unsalted butter and possibly use only 3/4 the amount of salt called for. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a particularly difficult time getting the sauce smooth. Next time, once I've whisked in the milk, I'll probably continue to whisk it rather than just stirring it, and do so for about 5 minutes instead of just 2. I wondered whether I should bother getting cream sherry instead of just using the dry I already had, but it was pretty inexpensive ($4.99 at my grocery store so I just went for it. While this recipe is a little expensive to make, it's a great gourmet twist on a classic and excellent for special occasions!

Tastes very good. I have had a number of different Mac and Cheese recipes including those that used Monterey Jack, Gouda, Blue Cheese, Parmesan and Cheddar. So many slight variations can offer interesting flavor palettes for your palate.

It was great, I didn't have the swiss but used cheddar, I can see where the swiss would really help the flavor

This was fantastic!!! I prepared this exactly as directed. My only deviation was the crusty topping, which I will do next time. I just sprinkled grated cheese on top with parsley for color. It was still fab.
I also had to make my own truffle butter since it isn't sold anywhere in stores where I live.
I will make this for special occasions again and again. It was a real treat and delicious!!

This was absolutely delicious!! Thanks Ina once again for an awesome recipe. Great twist on the mac and cheese. My grocery store (Whole Foods was out of truffle butter so I bought white truffle oil and added about 2 teaspoons to the called about of unsalted butter. Worked perfectly.

I have watched your show regarding this mac and cheese recipe numerous times and finally decided to try it when my local paper (St. Pete Times ran it in their Food Section. I followed the recipe exactly and SORRY INA, it just has very little taste. I had guests over for dinner and they tried to be polite but I got it out of them that they simply felt it was bland. o you have any suggestions as to how I can add taste to this recipe. If not, I am tossing it.
