This was very good. It reminded me of the Mac & Cheese my mother used to make only with more flavor. This is a keeper.

This is by far the best Mac and Cheese we have tasted. I only had 8 oz of gruyere and 12 oz of cheddar on hand, but the gruyere still stood out in terms of flavor. The breadcrumbs and tomatoes were an excellent complement as well.

I have to say - Ina's Mac & Cheese is the best I have ever had!!! Greyere cheese is a bit pricey - but I can honestly tell you - it's worth every penny and then some.

It was very tasty, and as I like to taste as I cook this recipe was tastiest just prior to baking. Next time I make it I will stop and serve then.

I loved this recipe, however if you are NOT familiar with Guyere cheese you may want to stick with just Cheddar or a mix of other cheeses. Guyere is definately an acquired taste, I love it. But it is very unique and expensive. So try it first before you make it a meal. Love this recipe will make again. Thanks Ina, looking forward to purchasing your cook books! Love you and your show, I TIVO it every day, except Fridays of course!

I've made this recipe a few times and it's always come out well. The tomatoes really complement the flavor of the cheeses well. I would recommend buying really good quality cheese - it makes a huge difference!

I wanted to love this and it was good but only my husband and I liked it. My kids, both mac n cheese lovers, did not eat it. I think it had too much nutmeg and not enough cheddar (next time I'll increase cheddar and decrease gruyere. I was surprised to see one tablespoon of salt. I used way less.

Simple, elegant and very flavorful. Not for those on a lowfat diet and more than ample for 8 people!
