I made this on Oscar nite, and everyone raved. My husband doesn't even like mac and cheese and he loved it. Thanks Ina for another great recipe.

I have tried many, many mac and cheese recipes and this is the absolute best. I also like the tomato and cheese combinations.

I love mac & cheese - This recipe is one of my very favorites! The tomatoes and breadcrumbes on top are the perfect touch. My family raves about this and asks for it now all the time.

This reminded me of a more elegant version of my grandmother's southern mac n' cheese. The gruyere gives it a richer flavor. While the tomatoes brighten it up. My guests raved over this for weeks.

I watched Ina make this and thought I should try it out - Well, it hit every expectation I had! It's a pricy way to have Mac and Cheese but it is worth it. It is rich so you can only eat a little at a time, however it makes great left overs... One note, using fresh bread crumbs is best! Enjoy everyone!

This recipe was stellar, even with my slight modification! I dislike Gruyere cheese so I used all cheddar- Grafton aged extra sharp cheddar, to be exact- and it was magnificent. I have been trying out various recipes for years and I can stop now! I am becoming an Ina Garten convert, as I have yet to make a recipe of hers that has not been scrumptious.

Simple, creamy and delicious. The gruyere gives boring mac and cheese a punch. Gruyere can be pricey, but I bet this would be a great recipe with double the sharp cheddar. I think next time I will use less bread crumbs on top, but other than that, a great addition to any recipe collection.

The best mac and cheese I have made at home. As Ina said in the episode the Gruyere really makes the flavor in dish. I skipped the bread crumbs and tomatoes but I will try it next time. Very delicious comfort food!
