While the flavor was good, the texture of the cheese was grainy, which is something my family does not like. Has anyone else had this issue?

This recipe is amazing! Everyone loved it! It is very different than your usual run of the mill mac and cheese recipes because the cheese is a lot milder than the usual which is what makes it so tasty and almost gourmet. Next time I think I might double the amount of bread since my family was commenting on how there wasn't enough.

Have made this recipe & Ina's Grown Up Mac & Cheese several times. Both are favorites of our family. Even the grandkids love the Grown Up version with Bleu Cheese. Grueyer cheese is $26.99/lb here, thus it becomes an expensive dish. However, it is the best using the cheeses from the recipe. It is versatile - add sauted onions, crisp bacon, a meat, or broccoli (excellent for a main entree dish. We find the recipe to be very flavorful.

I do omit the nutmeg, as I am not fond of it at all. I also have used crushed, flavored croutons or Panko - all satisfyingly delishous!

Great mac & cheese recipe, I have been looking for a good one for years. Love how its not dry and very cheesey, but not sure how I feel about the nutmeg. Maybe next time I will cut that back a little, its a bit too strong for my liking. But will definitely make this recipe again!

I thought this recipe was expensive (for the fresh cheeses and without a lot of flavor.
