I agree with the other reviewers: I think the final outcome was wonderful, but only because I had to spend significant time fixing it. I love a strong drink, but I thought there was WAY too much rum - I would halve it next time. And I would definitely add more simple syrup, according to your taste preference. But I love fresh mango, so I will make it again!

I would have given it 5 stars if the recipe was correct...I was a bartender and there is no way this recipe should read only a teaspoon of simple syrup. Simple syrup is typical measured in fractions of shots and a teaspoon is about the equivalent of a "splash"..."splashes" are reserved for ingredients like bitters, especially for a recipe that serves 4 people. For this recipesI would use a scant 1/4 cup depending on the sweetness of the mangos. Otherwise it is bitter and NOT delicious (and I like sour drinks.

This definitely is a delicious cocktail recipe. Could not give it 5 stars since I had to adjust it a bit. With only 1 teas. of simple syrup it was bitter and mainly because of the 1/4 cup of fresh lime. So I had to keep adjusting the input of simple syrup to make it somewhat sweet. I would say I had to add about 4 teas. of syrup to make it a cocktail I could drink.

I think that they were OK but I put a tablespoon of honey in it for a little more flavor.

I tried Ina Garten's Mango Daquiris. They are great.
The second time I made them for guests I used a jar of canned mangos from Trader Joes. I drained them, and saved the syrup they came in. I cut them in 1 inch chunks and froze them in zip lock.
When guests arrived I simply used the frozen mangos, lime juice, 2 tablespoons of mango syrup instead of sugar syrup, added the rum and about 1 cup of crushed ice to the blender.
These are a beautiful, sun-flower orange color and are delicious.
Try Ina Garten's mango daquiris. They are a great summer drink.
