Stunningly good. Served it as an appetizer at a dinner party to rave reviews. I did not try adding pepper, but will do that next time. As others have said, clean up was easy. This is a great way to cook bacon without the fuss.

Great way to cook bacon! Followed the recipe exactly and it was perfect. I used a non-stick rack and non-stick sheet pan so clean-up was a breeze. Thank you, Ina....you are my idol!

Made this for breakfast today to try something different. Very easy to make and easy clean up. All enjoyed the flavor and actually thought it was a 'special kind' of bacon.

This is easy to make and taste better than plain bacon.

Having never made bacon this way before, I thought I would give it a try this morning. Everyone loved it! My youngest son said he likes the bacon this way the best and not to make it the other way again. I did use regular center-cut, not 'thick', and it took 30 minutes to cook. I have to think that thick-cut would require more time. I will try it with cracked pepper next time and possibly thick-cut bacon, giving myself additional time if needed. I'm glad I tried this method as I will never use a fry pan for bacon again. Thanks!

Better: Sandwich the bacon between two pieces of parcment paper lined baking pans. Drain the fat after 10 mins and paint the bacon with the maple syrup and then coarsely crack pepper over it. Re-sandwich it for another 10 to 15 minutes.

I'll never make bacon any other way. Even without the maple syrup!

    How ingenious and simple.
This is the only way I make bacon now. It looks great and tastes better. As everyone else mentioned easier cleanup. (I now spray the rack for easier cleanup and of course use parchment paper to line the sheet pan.
I like the clean, sweet flavor of the maple syrup on the crispy bacon and I too brush the syrup on both sides (that's why I spray the rack first
Simple, delicious, easy! Love Ina's recipes. This is terrific with Ina's sour cream banana pancakes.... mm mmm mmmm
    My favorite FN chef.
