I'll never make bacon any other way. Even without the maple syrup!

    How ingenious and simple.
This is the only way I make bacon now. It looks great and tastes better. As everyone else mentioned easier cleanup. (I now spray the rack for easier cleanup and of course use parchment paper to line the sheet pan.
I like the clean, sweet flavor of the maple syrup on the crispy bacon and I too brush the syrup on both sides (that's why I spray the rack first
Simple, delicious, easy! Love Ina's recipes. This is terrific with Ina's sour cream banana pancakes.... mm mmm mmmm
    My favorite FN chef.

WHETHER YOU USE MAPLE SYRUP, ADD BLACK PEPPER TO IT, OR SPREAD MUSTARD AND MAPLE SYRUP ON THE BACON...ROASTING IT IS JUST THE BEST WAY TO DO IT. GREAT WHEN YOU ARE ENTERTAINING AND HAVE OTHER THINGS TO DO.

PUTTING IT ON A RACK AND USING FOIL CERTAINLY HELPS CLEAN UP, BUT I ALSO SPRAYED THE RACK WITH A COOKING SPRAY - LIKE PAM. IT HELPED.

JUST LOVE THE SHOW.....SHE IS SO EASY AND INVITING. WISH ALL THE FNN STARS HAD HER VOICE

I love the technique and taste of the original recipe. I think with Katie Lee Joel's addition, (on FN's website of dijon mustard makes it better. I added a heaping teaspoon. Also, in my opinion, thick cut bacon is a must! I made it ahead, and layered it in damp paper towels to reheat.

I made this with turkey bacon and loved it! The maple syrup did make the bacon more prone to sticking to my teeth, but that might just have been that it didn't absorb into the turkey bacon as much as pork bacon due to the lower fat content. This was a very simple way to add something new to an old dish and I will definitely be trying it again!

Let me start with: I haven't had bacon in over two years (I was on a vegetarian kick and now that I am pregnant, I am craving bacon with every meal! I ordered a side of bacon at a diner over the weekend and was really disappointed, it was soggy, lacked flavor, and just didn't deliver that bacony-crispness that I was after. I tried this recipe to make BLT's and I have to say, this is amazing. First of all, the clean up was a breeze (line the baking pan with tin foil and you don't have any bacon grease to deal with. Secondly, the flavor was great. The sweetness of the maple syrup compliments the smokiness of the bacon so well. I do recommend thick-cut bacon, center-cut if possible, to really deliver the goods. Crispy, sweet, salty, everything this mama-to-be could possibly ask for!
