I made a mistake and doubles the chicken. My family loved it. I have made it several times.

This recipe received rave reviews from my family. The soup is loaded with good-for-you ingredients and has an authentic mexican taste. The only change I made was to add one-cup of frozen corn kernels. I will definitely make this soup again and again. Thank you Ina.

I have had soup very similar to this in many mexican or southwest restaurants and none of them compare to this. It was easy - made a big pot and tasted very fresh. It is much better fresh than it is after a couple of days which is surprising because most soups and stews do get better overnite
Thanks Ina!

this recipe was very good. it takes a little time and patience to chop everythign but it is worth the wait. i used a roasted chicken from the grocery store and just put all the meat in. i like a lot of meat in my soup. we made the cheddar jalepeno cornbread too and it was great as well. what a delicious dinner ( for a couple days!!

Made this soup from the stock I made after I cooked the tar out of a Greenburg smoked turkey carcass. OMG, this soup is to die for. My hubby wanted to marry me again. Ina is the best!

This soup was absolutely fabulous! I made it for my fiance last weekend and we ended up having 4 unexpected guests that evening. Everyone LOVED it. I also used a store-bought rotisserie chicken and it really was fabulous. I will definitely make it again.

I'm not always a fan of Ina's recipes. I've never tried many, but they just look too bland for me. Well this one intirgued me from the get go, and i usually hate chicken soup. But i had to try it. So i planned ahead, and baked the chicken the day before. Once that was done, it was all downhill from there. It was a wonderful, conforting meal, and my husband likes it too. The corn tortillas were a great addition.
