I just ran downstairs and made this and it was yummy. I added a bit more of cayenne because I love spice. Can't wait for our next cold front to make this again, My husband liked it too.

I would just use a few oz. of choc chips and add a T of kahlua.

Did not like this one. The cayenne pepper was not popular at my house and we love spicy. Loved the texture. Will make again but leave out the cayenne.

I hope they serve this in Heaven. This is absolutely the best hot chocolate I ever tasted. I poured it over a marshmallow just to splurge. A shot of Kahlua isn't bad either.

I'm sorry to say I really didn't like this recipe. It really coated my mouth and I dumped most of it. I used Lindt chocolate and maybe it would have been better if I had used another kind. I did like the texture though.

I'm almost disappointed I found this recipe, because now I'm craving it every night after dinner. Notice I said "almost". This is a deliciously creamy and rich hot chocolate recipe with a hint of spice. I add a decent sized pinch of cayenne because I like a little more kick. I have used both Lindt and Ghiradelli bittersweet, but I favor the Ghiradelli. IMO this recipe is more similar to drinking chocolate than your standard cup of hot cocoa and it is utterly sublime.

OMG! This recipe was absolutely sinfully delicious!! I made it using Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate chips, eliminating the need to chop chocolate. Easy to make and I already had everything in the pantry and the fridge. Take some time for yourself and completely enjoy it. I loved how Ina said on the show that you can make it with skim milk or whatever you want...but it won't be as good. :

This was excellent! I gave it four stars only because I altered it slightly. I used fat free milk, and added 5 oz of chocolate. 3 oz of milk chocolate, and 2 oz of semi-sweet. I also omitted the vanilla. It turned out great!

This is an excellent hot chocolate recipe. I saw Ina make it on Barefoot Contessa this evening and had to give it a shot. We didn't have any whole milk, so I combined half & half w/ some soy milk and the hot chocolate came out delicious
