I did not make the ganache/I am not a frosting person..made the cakes only. I made them as cupcakes/made 1 dozen. They were very good. I used the oranges I had on hand which was 2 tangerines.

Excellent. I made them in the over sized cupcake pans. The recipe made the perfect 6. I made half of the orange syrup and it was plenty. I poked the tops with a cake tester before brushing the syrup on with my silicone pastry brush. It took all of the 30 minutes to bake them. Ina has the best recipes. I love everything I make of hers. I cannot wait to eat these little cakes.

I made cupcakes with this recipe substituting mini semi sweet chips for the chunks and they turned out great. I think 30 minutes was too long as they were done at about 23 minutes and would have burned in 30. I omitted the syrup and they are awesome without it. My husband is not big on chocolate, so instead of the ganache I made orange cream cheese icing and sprinkled with mini choc chips on top. Very good. Will definitely make this again.

I've made these a few times. I'm a concert musician and cooking is my escape from music; I cook and bake a lot. Of all the desserts I've made for my partner over the last fourteen years, these are his absolute favorite. I ticked him off yesterday, so I made these today - just took them out of the oven. They are really that good and pretty easy to make. Highly recommended, especially if someone's pissed at you.

This cake was very good. I used a loaf pan and it came out great. I didn't use the syrup, to me it made it alittle too sweet. Otherwise the cake was very delicious.

A simple awesome recipe. No problem with the chocolate pieces sinking in the cake and the ganache was a wonderful finish to a decadent dessert. Recipe doesn't make much. A very small bundt cake at most, great for giving away or sharing with a small number of friends.

This cake is absolutely delicious! I doubled the recipe and made a 2 layer 8" round cake with whipped cream filling. I would make this again!

Incredible!!! Made these today for a friend's surprise b-day brunch tomorrow. The six mini bundt cakes are lovely and I had the pan so it was perfect. They would be great in the mini bundt pan or the full size one. I found that until the orange syrup cooled off a bit it stayed on the cake better. While hot it just ran off the cakes onto the lined rack pan. I also punctured the cakes with a took pick to let the syrup absorb into the cakes. I do this step with lemon bread and it's good.
The combination of orange and chocolate is divine. I followed it exactly and it made wonderful cakes. I also like chocolate with other fruit so this is a refreshing change. The ganache looked a little thicker than hers, I also wonder how a touch of orange liquor in the ganache would taste. May try it next time. Do try these.

Addicting! I used the same recipe from her "Parties" book and made it in a Bundt pan. Using the zest and juice of the orange made the flavor so bright and fresh which contrasted nicely with the bittersweet chocolate- 2 of my favorite flavors. Be careful not to overcook it if you are using a Bundt pan, the outside gets quite crispy while the inside is still a bit underdone. Even so, still incredibly delicious!
