I have made smaller cheesecake desserts before, but this was the first real cheesecake I'd ever attempted. I followed the written recipe exactly, except that I used all strawberries with the red currant jam instead of a mix of berries. I did not use a water bath. It came out with no cracks and no browning on top, but browned on the sides. Creamy, lemony, and delicious. And just like Ina says in the video, it had a real Wow factor on the table with all the other desserts. Thanks for the great recipe!

I made this cheesecake for my sister's birthday this spring. It was the first time I had attempted cheesecake and the results were amazing. I've had several requests that this dessert be present at our family's Christmas dinner, and I'm happy to oblige! Thanks Ina!

Go to your local cake or kitchen supply shop and you can get a cake round. Cover the cardboard with foil and top with partchment or wp. This way you will never loose the bottom to your springform pan.
    Great cheesecake-

I baked your cheesecake recipe for a cause at my daughter's job and her boss wants to "marry the person who baked this cheesecake! Plus she got two offers to bake it again before Christmas!! I also baked it for thanksgiving and my family LOVED IT!! They want me to make it again for Christmas. Now I have to baked FOUR (4 cheesecakes before Christmas. The 4th one is for my husband who hasn't tasted it yet but hears me raving about it so much. Thanks Ina.....Your the BEST! Oh by the way does anyone have any suggestions on baking cheesecake without having to give away the bottom of my springform?

Like many of the other people who commented here this is also my very first attempt at making a cheesecake and I must say it was a lot easier than I expected. After watching the Thanksgiving special I wanted to make this for my dessert. It turned out absolutely wonderful and my husband laughed when I took a picture of it....not only did it taste great it was a very pretty dessert. My kids loved it.Thanks again for a great recipe.

I made this cheesecake for thanksgiving, although it came out delicious in taste, the center of the cake wasn't set. I followed the directions of the video, since the cooking temperatures where different in the written recipe. Also my cake didnt rise at all after done baking, I wonder if that has anything to do with the baking temperature. Next time I'll follow the temperature directions of the written recipe, but is definetly a recipe worth making. My boyfriend was very pleased and happy with it so did I :-

I was quite impressed with how easy this cheesecake was to make and how absolutely delicious it is! The only suggestion I would have is to put the berries on top right before serving.

Thank you, Ina, for sharing this recipe!

I made the cake for Thanksgiving and served it to my daughter-in-law who is a great cook and she loved it. Matter of fact everyone loved it and wanted more. So guess what I am making for Christmas?

    Thanks Ina
