I followed the recipe to the letter. My Cheesecake rose like a souffle and turned brown on the outside. The inside was moist and tasted rich. This is my first Cheesecake and it doesn't look like the picture in the recipe or in Ina's television show. Any thought on why my Cheesecake browned? I know it has to be something I am doing wrong.

this cheesecake was the best one yet. It really had a cheesecake flavor. But mine cracked so I covered in with the berries. Overall it was amazing!

OMG ! I made this the day before Thanksgiving so it would be ready for Thanksgiving day! I had to try it this morning.....I took the first bite and I thought I died and went to heaven!!!! The lemon zest makes it so fresh and such a clean refreshing taste in your mouth~~~~ Ina... this was so worth making it myself and not getting help from the premade cheesecakes in the grocery store!!! Oh by the way did I mention....... that I love this cheesecake!!! ~ Tina

Okay first off I set my oven temperature at 350 NOT 450. I baked the crust like it said then I baked the cheesecake at 350 for 25 minutes not at 450 for 15. Then I lowered the temp to 225 and baked it for an hour. After that I followed the recipe and I had NO cracks what so ever and the cheesecake was baked perfectly and tasted great. FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS AND YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS!!!

I was afraid to make a cheese cake because of all the steps involved. I followed Ina's recipe to the letter. I was so nervous, I even tried the water bath for the first time. I didn't even know what that was until I read all the comments. I 'm happy to say it came out wonderful. I don't even want to cut it. I just want to look at it. Thank you Ina for a great 1st cheese cake.

Until this, I did not like cheesecake ! My husband baked it, and it came out perfect, even though he is not an experienced baker.

I have always wanted to try to make my own cheesecake but was worried because I don't bake often. When I saw Ina's recipe I knew it would be good. I followed the recipe step-by-step and it came out perfect. I did put it in a water bath to cook though. It came out without a crack on it and a perfect golden color. We taste tested so we knew whether or not to serve it for Thanksgiving. It was creamy and fluffy.. not like a big brick of cream cheese. I am most definitely making this again and again.

I am not an experienced cheescake baker, and I followed the recipe as exactly as possible. Seems like I wound up with too much batter and over filled the pan because the cake did split when it rose above the rim. Can anybody tell me if this is from over filling or from some error in the preparation? (I checked the oven temp with a thermometer. Not really a bad thing as it has a little souffle look to the top.

I wish I could post a picture of it! My cheese cake came out perfect no crakes just evenly baked! I followed the video instructions for temp. I believe the written recipe the temp of 450 is a typo error. Everyone loved it. This was not hard to make at all. Like Ina said it does take time but it is worth the wait!!! I plan to make another one to take to my husband families house for thanks giving!
