Amazingly delicious and EASY. Make it exactly as written. It's worth it to pay for mascarpone cheese, and if you can't find Tate's Bake Shop cookies, try the "Highbrow Chocolate Chip Cookies" from Trader Joe's. Also, I cut this recipe in half and made it in a square 8x8 pan since I don't have a springform. I got three nice layers this way and the cake sliced into squares like tiramisu. I will DEFINITELY make this again!

OMG this dessert is very rich and heavy, I really couldn't even finish a single serving. The cream is very heavy and the Tates cookies make it very sweet. When you cut a slice be ready to eat like 5 cookies at a time!
I almost would of rather spread each individual cookie with the heavy cream mixture and eat alone instead of in a cake.
Lastly the Tates cookies got soggy. Wouldn't make it again, unless I wanted to give someone a heart attack.

I made this for my inlaws yesterday. It was A HIT!!! I love the fact that it's a very quick recipe, its super cute, and it tastes absoultely amazing.. I deifnitely would recommend it to anyone who isn't trying to turn your stove on this summer, but u still want to offer a nice desert at an event.

Also, beware of the comment of the raw cookie dough instead of cooked chocolate chip cookies. People can get sick from raw dough. It sounds smart enough, but you have to be wise ...

Exceptional "special" dessert. I used refrigerated chocolate chip
cookies and pressed thin before baking, they turned out perfect. This was a fabulous Father's Day Dessert and was not hard to make either. I will certainly make for another family dinner.

This is an 8-star recipe. At least. When I watched Ina make it I was transported back to my childhood but, as Ina stated, this one has the volume turned up. The mascarpone. The Kahlua. The espresso. Ahhhhh ...

Here in San Antonio, Tate's cookies aren't available and I didn't want to fork over the bucks to ship them in so I found the Tate's Chocolate Chip cookie recipe online and made them for the cake. (So MANY left over to munch, too.

It was quick and simple to make and it was delicious! And just as good for breakfast the next morning.

BEST DESSERT EVER! I will definitely be making this again. Instead of Tate's cookies, I baked some chocolate chip cookies (using a pre-made mix, which I flattened during the baking process to make them crisp. The recipe was very easy to follow. I didn’t have any Kahula so I used espresso flavored vodka. I was able to find mascarpone in the deli section (with the specialty cheese of our local ShopRite. Everyone licked their plates clean and asked for seconds.

wonderful fabulous and easy... what more can you ask for in a dessert !!
People who do not follow the recipe should not rate it lower because if you
use the correct ingredients it is a delicious dessert deserving 5 stars !!
Safeway, VONS and Pavillions all carry marscapone cheese, you just
have to look in the deli section (not the normal cheese area, not sure why.
(Costco carries chocolate chip cookies in the bakery section

Took it to work for a birthday - and got wonderful compliments - and was asked to share the recipe. I could not find mascapone cheese so used the cream cheese/whip cream/sour cream substitute. I just used some Safeway chocolate chip packaged cookies (with chocolate chunks. I used a Vanilla Coffee Liquor. Was very easy to make - and tasted fantastic. Will make it again. Might try a variation on the cookies - I am thinking a Milano cookie.
