Oh, Ina! I must have done something wrong. I followed the recipe exactly and my husband and I just thought - meh, okay. Our opinion only. Obviously, others really enjoy it.

This was a very simple meal to create. I had my 3 yo girl in the kitchen helping mommy the whole time. except with the vodka! LOL she only got to stir that! It was great. I probably like someone else said, will add in a meat of some type next time, and omit the vodka and use maybe some chicken stock in stead....... Ok I've since made this several times and I have yet to add any meat or omit the vodka!! LOL it's is so good, I love this sauce. There are not enough words to describe the deliciousness!

I had to create a username so that I could review this recipe I think it is so good. I do have a few tips. One, I make it all in one pan. I saute the onions, etc. on the stovetop in my dutch oven, then just put the whole thing in the oven to roast. Also, after pureeing the tomato mix, I separate it in half and freeze 1/2. I add 1/2 of the cream to the remaining portion to eat immediately. The half in the freezer, I add the cream when I thaw it some evening and we have another delicious dinner.

I had never made vodka sauce before. My mom usually makes it for the kids and says that it is labor intensive. Rainy day and I had all of the ingredients so I decided to give it a try. Both husband and son just raved about the sauce. I asked them to compare it to grandma's sauce and was told that this one is ten times better. Hubby is even pushing me to bring over a container to my mom's for her to sample. Just wondering if the roasted tomatoes can be frozen in batches. In that way, I can just defrost, add the cream and oregano and have a delicious vodka sauce at the ready. Many thanks Ina!

This recipe is very good, however it has lots of heat, so beware only put in half of the red pepper flakes unless you like it hot. It was too hot for me, next time I make it I will cut back the red pepper flakes, I used whole wheat penne instead of regular. I think you could add an extra garlic clove also to this recipe.

This is the third time preparing this dish so played it up a bit by adding in some browned 'mild' italian sausage. vecause it is super hot this time of year I also changed up the prep for the tomatoes by grilling them over charcoal rather than roasting them in the oven. I enjoyed the flavors from the grill in the dish. I may add some portobellos next time, who knows... This recipe is definitely a regular on the menu! Love it! Thank you for sharing!

This sauce is extremely delicious, with a large depth of flavor. I thought it was spicy, but my boyfriend didn't notice it. Depends on your spice level. A really great sauce, that is so much better than store bought! I don't think I'll be able to use store bought sauce again! The sauce takes about 2 hours to make, and it really very simple. I had never used fresh oregano before, and it was great as well.

This is an amazing recipe! I've made it MANY times! I cut the amount of red pepper because it was way to hot for my son (and a little to hot for me too! I used whole wheat penne. Although I'm sure it's delicious on any pasta! I also buy a container of premade pesto and put it in a ziploc with a couple chicken breast. Grill it up (I use my indoor grill pan It's so amazing! Although it takes some time to make it, it's SO worth it! On the day you decide to make it for dinner, make a double or triple batch and freeze it into protions suitable for your family! Easy dinner for another day!

Wow, I love this recipe. The only change I would make is to cut the red pepper a bit but other than that it was perfect.

This was very good. Unfortunately I didn't read through the directions prior to purchasing the ingredients. I don't have a sauce pan that can go directly into the oven, so I skipped that part. Also, I didn't put it in the blender. Even after those two missed steps, it was very, very good. Just beware of that red pepper. It's spice and heat is packed in a small amount. Next time I will have that sauce pan purchased! I wonder if there will be much of a difference. This way was a whole lot faster, that is for sure!
