This was the best apple crisp I have ever made. I have made it twice now and the only thing I changed I used the juice of a whole lemon and a whole orange and left out the zest of each. The first time I made it, it was a little to citrusy for my taste. Either way, it is fantastic.

It's apple season in New England and this is truly the BEST Apple Crisp recipe out there. I substituted Authentic Foods Gluten Free Multi-Blend Flour for the 11/2 cups of white flour with extreme success. The recipe fed a crowd and everyone was delighted! Next time I will try using 1/2 butter and 1/2 extra light olive oil and cut a bit back on the sugar to make it a bit less sinful. Can you vote 10 stars out of 5?

This recipe worked perfectly and the apple crisp (or crumble as we Brits call it was lovely. Served it warm with custard and the whole family loved it. :

OMG! This apple crisp is by far the best you will ever make! I make it for parties and it is gone within minutes! I usually have to have my crisp with vanilla ice cream but this one is so flavorful you can eat alone. The lemon and orange adds so much flavor that one bit just melts in your mouth! If you haven't made this recipe yet, look no further and make this one! I swear you won't regret it! Ina knows best!

This is, without a doubt, the best apple crisp i have ever had. One little thing i do to ensure the apples are moist and flavourful is i let them sit in the sugar and spice mixture for quite awhile before putting on the top layer and then baking. you will not be disappointed!

    it was ok...
The filling was quite runny, next time i will probably add some corn starch to the apples.
The crust was delicious though, i might just combine this crust with the filling of another recipie.

This is an easy, delicious recipe. I love that you can make the topping in a mixer instead of by hand. I wasn't watching it closely, however, and it became stuck in a ball. I just removed it from the mixer and added pieces of the dough back in more gradually with more flour and sugar. I'll probably add 1/2 the zest next time. All things considered, it was great!

I have tried many recipes but this by far exceeds any of the others. I used fuji and gala apples and it turned out great. The kids loved it, nice for a rainy day. Good combination of spices.
It was enjoyed by all. Thank you
