This apple crisp was the best I have ever made. The orange zest and lemon zest taste just perfect in it. I used a bit more orange and lemon juice. I also did more brown sugar than white. I like my crisp really caramelized. It will be quickly devoured at any event you bake it for. Or like me, just a exquisite home cooked dessert to have around.

This is the tastiest apple crisp I have come across. It makes a big recipe so it feeds a lot (we ate it all.

The lemon and orange zest really adds a lot to this recipe. I used Granny Smith apples for the tartness and it was great!
I get lots of compliments on this and everyone asks for the recipe. Try it warm with vanilla ice cream.

The orange and lemon zest can be a little overwhelming! I've used only lemon zest and it comes perfect.

This recipe turned out pretty good for me. However, I read "1/2 pound" as "1/2 cup" of butter in the recipe and ended up with crumbly topping that wasn't very good-- too dry. My mistake! By the way, 1/2 is about 1 cup of butter (why not just list in cups??.

Otherwise, I put the zest and juice of one lemon to substitute because of all of the comments about it being too citrus-y and it ended up PERFECT.

Next time I'll put the right amount of butter and keep it otherwise the same! Great!
