The recipe was very easy to follow... although i would not use the zest of a WHOLE orange... was a little overpowering. but yummy overall

This turned out to be so good, and was so easy to make! I think this will become one of my 'staple' recipes. I added some pecans in with my apples, and they added a very nice touch. Thanks Ina! :

I tryed it her way first. Didn't care for the apple she used. Got a Gala baking apple was a lot better.

Wonderful recipe. very easy but extremly tasteful. I like to mix cortland with grannysmith apples to make a nice combination of tartness with sweetness. Also, the zest makes it taste very refreshing making a great dessert for a cold wintery night as well as a perfect summer treat.

I love apple crisp and was in search of the perfect one. As with other reviewers, I cut the citrus ingredients by half. But still felt like it was strange in there. It was tasty, but not "the one". Drizzling caramel over top with the vanilla ice cream is also a no-brainer here:

Every time I walk by this dessert in my kitchen, I take a spoonful. The crisp is the best. It is a great dessert to make in advance for a big party. I love all of Ina's recipes (love the deap dish apple pie but this tops them all.

I used granny smith apples rather than macintosh for more of a tart flavor. It smelled like apple pie. The crisp would work well with vanilla ice cream.
