I love, love, love this recipe! I made it into muffins and didn't add as much frosting because it makes it too sweet. It is my all time favorite for banana cake now!!

Hi Ina, I made this for my brothers 62 birthday. I remembered his god mother use to make him banana cake for his birthday. She has passed several years ago and I thought I would make him one. When I found your recipe I had to try it. So I made it for my brother, then I picked up my mom (83, and surprised him at his house. It was so moist and delicious, everyone loved it.

I tried this recipe today, and I must say the banana bread was moist, easy to make, and a great use of those overly ripped bananas in a bow on my kitchen counter top. I did make a few changes: did not add the nuts-which I should have; baked two loafs instead of one round cake. I was not sure how large of an orange to use. I used a very large navel orange, and the flavor of the orange zest, over powered the banana taste. All in all, I would made this bread again. This bread would make a nice addition to a breakfast gift basket.

The cake was amazing, just the right amount of density and moistness. The icing was too overwhelming for the delicate citrus and other flavors in the cake. Next time I would use a very thin layer of the icing or choose a different, lighter icing.

I tried this recipe as a banana loaf bread, and it was sensational! The orange zest makes the bread more delicate and tastefull. It was moist and not too sweet. I made it twice in a week. Make sure the bananas are riped because this is what it makes the bread to be moist.

This cake came out more like pudding. I didn't like the texture, the taste was ok, but I won't do this again.

Love this cake. Made it twice in one week, and my friends and family just love it. And, it is so easy to make. Thank you Ina.

I didn't use the orange zest or nuts (didn't have any available, and I added one extra banana (because I had an extra riped banana and this recipe came out fantastic! Moist and flavorful the kids are eating it up...as am I.
