I though these brownies were excellent, but just a little too strong coffee tasting for me. Everyone else loved them though. I'm sure I'll be making them again!

Overall these brownies were delicious but slightly problematic when serving. The chocolate flavor and texture was amazing and my guests were gushing over them. They are very rich. One guest (an avid baker said they were the best brownies she has ever had. So flavor was five stars plus. I subtracted a star due to stability. The bars crumbled/broke at room temperature. The recipe does say to refrigerate before cutting- this was essential. However when my cut brownies came up to room temp (on a serving plate they broke apart more than I'd like. Five stars plus for eating at home but probably wouldn't take this to another party. Not sure if it was an error on my part or just the recipe.

I have made these brownies several times and get mostly rave reviews. The only negative reviews I have had, is that they are TOO rich. I have to cut them smaller than what Ina does because the huge portions are just too much, and a small bite or 2 is all we can eat in one sitting, Thus the 4 star rating. but they are wonderful. Easy to make too! Thanks for auch a wonderful brownie recipe Ina!!

The flavor was great in these, I loved the coffee flavor, but mine didn't turn out. The outside edges baked faster than the middle so by the time it was done in the center, the outside was hard and chewy. Not sure what happened there, but the taste was great.

These brownies turned out amazing and were a huge hit at my office! I decreased the instant coffee to 2 T rounded and subbed a bag of peanut butter chips for the walnuts. Delicious!

These brownies are correctly named being that they are outrageous. I have made several trays of these brownies and everybody always loves them. I added an additional 1/2 cup of sugar after tasting the batter and I also didn't use the coffee. I was afraid they would have a mocha flavor. However, next time I am going to use it since I wathed Ina say that the coffee only enhances the chocolate flavor. How bad could that be? I haven't made any other brownies since I got this recipe.

i DON'T Know how anyone could not love these browies. Over the years I have tried hundreds of brownie recipes, these are the best brownies I have ever tasted. I also like the large size, I can bake them and freeze what I don't eat or give away. I Love These Brownies

WEIRD - Originally posted these were rather horrid brownies imho - but time ran out so I delivered them to the function and hoped for the best. (To me they were kinda weird in texture, not very chocolately, needed more fat or butter etc. To 'cover' the dry chalkiness I dumped a bunch of choc. chips on the hot brownies to frost them - oh and I reduced coffee powder to 1 1/2 T. only. Went to pick up my pan today (these were an April Fool's Day treat and people came from out of the woodwork to meet the lady who made the best brownies in the world..clamoring for the recipe - I was lucky to get out of there alive - WHO KNEW - I like my brownie recipe better LOL! Kudos Ina you had these people happy - though I'm still perplexed over it all.
