Tonight is the second time I've baked these awesome and gooey brownies. My kids are waiting for it to be cooked and they keep staring at the oven window. We love this particular recipe. I had never made brownies from scratch before until two days ago. It was so easy to follow and fun to make with my kids help.

something miraculous happens when these brownies are chilled...they were ok when I first tried them out of the oven...a bit dry, but passable...but only a few hours in the refrigerator transformed them...now there is a dense, moist richness that wasn't there before...I do BELEVE it's the great deal of butter that did the truck and once chilled binded this brownie in a wonderful way...hope this helps...

I have been making these brownies for several years now and they are absolutely awesome. They have a great chewiness, deep chocolate flavor, and crunchy top. They also keep for about a week in the refrigerator and will make 48 normal size brownies.

Just like the previous reviews said-these really are the best brownies ever! I was a big fan of Nigella Lawson's brownies until I tried these. They were easier to make and baked more evenly. The flavor and texture reminded me of fudge. I did use 2 cups pecans instead of the walnuts because that is what I had on hand. Love that these made so many brownies because they were perfect potluck fare and yet I still had enough to give away as gifts.

I made this recipe for a bbq potluck party. I was accused of ruining someone's diet resolve with this tasty morsels of chocolate yumminess. At our next party get together I was asked "did you bring the best brownines I ever ate?", and the individual that accused me of ruining her diet resolve told me she'd been dreaming about "those devilish" brownies. So, are they good "heck ya", and a grown man said they were the best he'd ever had...what else is there to say. These are the best brownies ever.

I have made these brownies countless times and they are fantastic. I cut the instant coffee by half and used pecans instead of walnuts. I have had two batches go wrong. I think I added the egg mixture to the chocolate too soon. The moment I finished stirring I knew something had gone wrong. Once baked, the top was crumbly looking and when I cut into them they looked greasy and fell apart. Every other time they came out perfectly. These brownies are definitely a crowd pleaser.

I was completely pleased with the results of this recipe. I usually am pretty pleased with anything the barefoot countessa posts. Not mention that all of these wonderful recipes are on this site for free ;. I did make a change over though. my only true weakness is chocolate. So I tried 15oz chocolate instead. The brownies turned out really gooey and rich. I served them in smaller portions since they were so rich. My friends loved them.
