I used this recipe as part of my Christmas dinner. It was my first time but I knew Ina would not let me down. I am sure everyone has a basic seasoning they do for all meats/fish and that is what I did prior to adding hot pepper sauce in the buttermilk and letting the chicken marinate over night. I should have fried it a little longer to get that nice brown colour but otherwise my in-laws & crew enjoyed it! This is a keeper!

I would like a crispy chicken recipe without frying in oil first. Not good enough to make again.

I made this last night for my family of 4 years on up. It was one of the easiest meal to make and tasted amazing. I would recommend this for a family friendly dinner gathering. Will make it again, and again for years to come.

Why? The chicken tastes great, but you've already heated up a pot of hot oil so why not just go ahead and fry it until it's done? Just don't get the two step process or what it accomplishes.

This is a tasty recipe! My family really enjoyed it! I needed to cook it a lil bit longer but that's what I get for not following the recipe. All in all it came out pretty good. Just remember..cook a little at a time.

Excellent. I added some garlic powder and cayenne and put in the deep fryer for 3 minutes, then transferred to the over. Cooked on a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Amazing recipe!! I am partial to using panko for frying, so I put some in the food processor to make the crumbs smaller. Tried it on the first batch in the frying pan, and it all fell off!! Dumped the crumbs, used flour for the rest (seasoned with paprika, salt, pepper, and onion powder. I did have to fry it longer than the recipe indicates, but it came out perfect!! That'll teach me to mess with Ina's recipes, huh??? Next time I'll add some hot sauce to the buttermilk to spice it up a bit. But yummo ... crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside ... what could be better???

Very Good. I added some Fresh Taragon, Garlic Salt and Pepper and some Chili Powder to the Chicken while it is soaking in the buttermilk and added some more spices to flour for extra flavor. It's a Keeper!

Love this recipe! I added hot sauce to the buttermilk and let the chicken marinate over night. Great results and flavor.
