I watched Ina doing Palmiers on tv and i tried it the very next day and OMG , it was YUMMY.

i tried some variation as adding some cinnamon powder to the sugar and adding nutella on one half of the pastry sheet so that when the palmiers is baked you will have sugar on one side of the heart and nutella on the other side.

this is one awesome receipe and a very easy one too.

    kudoos to you Ina

I just made these for the first time. They were simple to make and delicious! I will make them again, especially when I need a last minute dessert. Ina is the best!

Spread a very thin layer of seeded jam - I used black raspberry - on one side before folding. Came out great - with swirls of jam inside. A few suggestions...
-Bake at 425 for the full 6 minutes. I found they didn't puff up as much when baked too hot - carmelized too quickly.
-Leave the second roll in the fridge while baking the first. The puffed pastry baked better when cold - also easier to slice.
-Reheat in a warm oven before serving. These are great at room temperature - but even better when warm.

This cookies were delicious. They are so easy to make and people are always very impressed. I found that 1.5 cups of sugar was plenty and adding about a teaspoon of cinnamon made them even more delicious.

I'm not a baker and these are as good or better than the ones i enjoy on my frequent trips to france. I added a hint of fresh ground nutmeg and a scant teaspoon of cinnimon to the 2 cups sugar. Perfect. Even my husband was shocked.

Man are these good!! I needed a quick desert for a bible study - these were just what I was looking for.
Tip - stay close to the oven to make sure they don't burn.
    Happy eating :

The salt added is perfect, wouldn't be the same without it. I used half brown sugar and half granulated and it came out great, as I like mine not as sweet. I gave some to my mother in law and she thought I bought them from a bakery!
PS Ina has also made these as "Tomato Basil Elephant Ears", same shape, different filling. YUM

this is the easiest thing I have ever baked. Don't worry if they don't stick together, they do when they bake. Although this recipe doesn't tell you what your oven temp should be, I made a tester and at 350 I had to increesed the time 6 min a side. so either your oven needs to be hotter then 350 for the 6 mins aside that the recipe calls for. But they are fast and delicious!
