Wow! These were so easy to make and looked so professional! I loved them and so did my family. I tried one batch with sugar and the next with cinnamon and sugar. The cinnamon ones tended to caramalize quicker and I had to really watch them to keep them from burning but they were all beautiful. I can't wait to try them for my small group. Thanks Ina!

I guess you have to take this for what it's worth since there are no other bad reviews --but I just tried this and it was a complete flop. I baked the first batch on parchment paper -- they stuck so badly to the paper I couldn't turn them -- the next batch I sprayed the parchment paper with pam and they were still stuck so badly I couldn't turn them over. I'm sure they would have tasted great but since they all ended up in the garbage, who knows?

I have loved palmiers forever, and these are just amazingly easy and taste just like the palmiers you would buy in a bakery. They are so easy and yet look very impressive! Ina, you rock.

I've been making these for years--long before I saw Ina Garten make them. But Ina showed me some tricks I didn't know (adding salt to the sugar; sugaring and folding the pastry sheet before cutting the strips and now my palmiers are better and easier than ever! My mother-in-law, a native German, says they remind her of Europe and she can't get enough of them. I like to shape mine in a larger heart shapes by only folding each side toward the center once, and then folding that in half lengthwise before i cut. My favorite way to serve them is tucked into a single scoop of sherbet in a pretty with a single curl of lemon zest and maybe a couple mint leaves. If you like your sweets subtle, you'll absolutely adore palmiers, as I do!

I grew up in France so I LOVE these Palmiers and they were so easy to make! I followed the instruction and there it was! Just have to be a bit careful NOT to burn them though... they do burn easily if you don't watch them closely. Thank you Ina because I'm not much of a pastry maker, but these will be one of my favorites!
