Finally, I get to make Palmiers (or elephant ears and it's soooo easy. They taste just as good (or better than those purchased at a french bakery. Betcha can't eat just one!!

Took the prettiest of these to a party & ate the rest over the following 6 days. They kept very well in a ziplock on the counter. The last one still had a great texture. I did not line my baking sheets because I was afraid I'd be picking parchment off of the back of them. I loosened them with a spatula while they were still warm and they were fine. Also I had to bake mine much longer to get them caramelized. I will make these again and again. Everyone loved them from 2 years old up!

I thought the recipe was clear and concise. The palmiers were delicious and so quick to prepare. I love Ina's show and think all her dishes are "doable" and tasty. I love it that she uses the butter and doesn't try to cut calories/taste out of everything like many people are doing now.

    Thanks for the recipes Ina!!!

Sooooo yummy and easy. I split the batch up and tried one pan lined with parchment and the other with silpat. The silpat version tasted the same, but did not get the nice brown sugar color on them. Works either way. These are fab!

These were great! Flaky and caramelly... sweet, but not too sweet. Definitely a counter-space intensive activity for me, but well worth it. Friends were impressed, and I still had time to entertain.

Just as delectable as any French Patissiere. An awesome treat to bring to any gathering. Quick and so easy to make. Makes you look like an expert pastry chef. Ina sure knows what's good!
