Contrary to what other may have said, the stew was not sour. They must have used a cheap quality wine. The stew was very delightful with slight acidic under notes complemented with a savory rich upheaval of tender succulent beef, fluffy potatoes and sweet carrots. This meal plated four with generous servings and a possible seconds for one. I would recommend this for a family who doesn't have much time to make a good meal, as the prep time is minimal, but doesn't sacrifice the flavor of the meal. Great recipe, it is a must try!

My mom made this for dinner one night. The meat was tender and good, and the veggies were perfectly done. We made some small changes to the recipe(ie how much wine we put in,ectand it turned out good.

Excellent! The key here is to use a good red wine. I had Malbec on hand so I used it. I often buy a whole tenderloin roast, so I used the tail filet mignon for the meat... added couple sprigs of thyme, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Thank you Ina, you never disaapoint! (oh, because I used such a tender cut of beef, it didn't need to cook as long

I won't be making this again. The wine made the beef taste sour. My family didn't like it at all. This is not one of Ina's better recipes.

This was SO incredibly easy to make. It was delicious, and definitely a recipe for wine lovers!! The broth was so full of rich wine flavor.

I made this for a family celebratory dinner. Everyone liked it a lot- I will make it again!! It does take quite a bit of time and my kitchen was pretty messy by the time I was finished. (Maybe that is because of the fact I have toddlers pulling at my skirt while cooking? However- well worth the clean up- DELICIOUS!

I made this a vegetarian stew by using Gardein Beef Tips. I didn't marinate the gardein beef tips and I substituted, oven roasted brussel sprouts for the peas. I just roasted them in the oven with olive oil and kosher salt and then added them at the very end. It is amazing!!!!! If you are vegetarian and want a delicious beefless beef stew this was amazing!!!

This is a new favorite in our house. The only change I made was substituting fresh snap peas for the frozen peas. Leftovers freeze well - just let it defrost in the fridge overnight and heat up in a saucepan (or microwave. Tastes just as good as the day you made it!

I made this recipe for company and thought it was fine. Everyone ate it & no one complained, but it wasn't the kind of meal that people were asking for the recipe. It did taste like it had wine in it, but I didn't think the taste overpowered the stew. I love her beef bourguignon recipe and would recommend skipping this one and trying that one instead.
