This recipe has been around a long time but I just now tried it. First let me say that I have an electric stove and it is not by choice. This really is a good recipe and I think I need to fidget with the burner temp. It needs to be higher so it seems around 9 (with a 2-10 burner would be best. Regret to say that my thermometer to check the temp on oil just broke. Having said that, my family still loved this fish. It was great. Take some of the leftover batter and drizzle into hot pan, then salt well, and you will get some really good, crispies to go with the fish.

Made the 'Chips' today to go with Beef Brisket Sammie's! Awesome! I really do not like Rosemary, so used Thyme instead, it was perfect! Will definitely do the parchment paper idea the next time! Needless to say made 3 smaller potatoes and my hubby and I were fighting over the last ones!! Will be making more the next time!!! Thank you Ina!!!

This Was Delicious, best fish and chips I ever made, the family loved it and cleaned their plates. Very easy to make. I used steak fries in a bag instead of cut up potatoes and I used flounder instead of cod. Thanks Ina!!

I made this over the winter following the recipe exactly and loved it so today I decided to try it with chicken strips. After seasoning the chicken generously with salt and peper, I halved the salt and pepper in the batter. I cooked the chicken on a heat of 6(out of ten for about 6 minutes, flipping every 2 minutes until each piece of chicken was golden brown. (I couldn't find my candy thermometer! Then, I salted the strips while they were cooling. I also made a dipping sauce that was equal parts honey and dijon mustard. It was delicious. That is what I love most about Ina's recipes, they are very versitle! Enjoy.

I loved the crispy texture of this batter. But what I loved even more is that it was so simple and quick to put together and I had all of the ingredients already in my pantry. This is a great go to meal for a busy weekday night.

Very easy, great light batter. My only problem is that after the 2nd batch of 5 small pieces, the batter was no longer sticking to the fish. I didn't have a thermometer, and I am guessing the pan got too hot. I will try this again once I purchase a thermometer.

One of the best dinners I have ever tried from the FN! The fries are flavorful, crisp and easy to make it in the oven. I have substituted other white fish based on what I have on hand. AMAZING!
