This is awesome. I did make a couple of changes ~ I left out the lemon zest and I used canned peaches. I did drain them. I made a 9X13 casserole dish size of the recipe.

I can't wait for the local Georgia peaches to come in!

    Out of this world!

This dessert came out really well except it took a lot longer to cook than indicated....Not sure if I did something wrong with the cumble topping... It wasn't as crunchy as the other reviews say it's supposed to be. The fruit part was out of this world though and it paired really nicely with vanilla ice cream. I actually used a bag of frozen mixed berries (let it thaw 30 mins. The topping just tasted doughy?? Maybe I missed something.. It was very moist and doughy when I was making the mixture and trying to sprinkle it on top of the fruit before I baked it...Felt like I had more butter than other ingredients.. But even though it was doughy...it was still delious.

This recipe is EXCELLENT. I'm no master chef, but I saw Ina making this on TV and had to try it. You cannot go wrong! I have tried it with peach/blueberry (as written, apples (as recommended below, and strawberry/blueberry. Each one is better than the last. I'm not that exact with measurements, but every single time, it comes out great. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for anyone looking for an easy, delicious dessert!

I just don't think this recipe can fail. I just made it for the first time and it was wonderful. Even here in Virginia in the middle of March when there are no decent fresh peaches and I don't even know how the fresh blueberries I see around taste. I used canned peaches and frozen blueberries and it was delicious. Here's what I did.

A few years back I remember seeing Paula making a recipe in the cooler months when the fresh peaches weren't available and she used canned peaches. I used three 15 1/2 to 16 ounce cans of peaches in light syrup. I just emptied one can into a bowl along with the syrup from the can. The other two cans I drained through a strainer. I thawed the cup of blueberries on a plate on the countertop for 30 minutes or so. (the frozen blueberries were nice and plump unlike what I have seen in the stores The rest of the recipe I followed to a ":T" except for mixing in the blueberries. I divided the peach mixture equally between 6 ramekins, then divided the blueberries equally between the 6 as well. I wrapped them in plastic and put them in the fridge until I was ready to use them. Well, they cooked up beautifuly. I am glad that I listened to her about lining the baking sheet with parchment paper because they do love to bubble over a bit. Another keeper. I look forward to the summer when I can use fresh fruits and I look forward to trying it with different fruits as well. Thanks Ina for another winning recipe.

I swear I think if Ina ever decided to not do her show anymore I would be in a funk for months. She is so pleasant to watch and her recipes never fail.
This is another recipe that is easy to make and melt in your mouth delicious.
I made it exactly as written but made everything in advance- even baking them in advance !!! I am usually leery of making things ahead like cobblers, etc., because I worry that when they are heated up, the topping will be soggy. It didn't make any difference here. When my dinner guests and I were ready for dessert, I just put these (2 at a time in the microwave and set it for around 40 seconds to a minute.. When I took them out they were warm and the crumbles on the top were still just as crunchy as they were before I heated them up. I did add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each right before I served them. Not a crumb was left...sigh

Comments to Jo for calling out Mel on his/her invalid rant on FoodNetwork. Like Jo said, comments are for specific recipes and not your general dissatisfaction with when shows air. This episode was probably shot in summer when there are an abundance of fresh fruits.

This turned out beautifully. I feel like there was too much crumble relative to the fruit - it was too thick on top of the fruit in the ramekins. However - it was all really delicious. And super-easy. I'll make this again for a party - so simple.
