To Mel, I am in southern California and all the 'normal' supermarkets here have beautiful ripe peaches, blueberries and strawberries right now. Please don't ding Ina's recipe because you're unhappy with the episode they aired, the rating is meant for your satisfaction with how the recipe turned out for you.

I have the best peach tree. And this recipe was fantastic. I substituted huckleberries for blueberries so it was very pretty also.

Uh, where do you get fresh, RIPE peaches in late October? I suppose you might be able to find fresh peaches at some upscale/specialty market this time of year, but they would be imported from warmer climates and would NOT be ripe or very good. Same goes for the fresh blueberries (though you could probably get away with frozen in this recipe, as well as the fresh strawberries in another recipe from this episode. C'mon, Food Network--you're overdosing us with so many seasonal/holiday shows (anyone else getting sick of tailgating and Halloween episodes right about now?, but you can't deliver when it comes to airing other seasonal-specific episodes. This is a NEW episode of "Barefoot Contessa," so there's really no excuse. I'm rating this middle-of-the-road (three stars because I love Ina and this is probably not her fault; rather it's yet another example of Food Network's increasing ineptitude. Such a shame. (And NO, e-mailing Food Network about these kinds of issues never works, as no one ever responds.
