The best crisp I have ever had! My family loved it. Used fresh cranberries instead of dried. So good!

I've made this several times and totally LOVE it!! It's my favorite recipe for special occasion desserts. Every time I've made this I've gotten the best compliments. It's so easy and has a nice complex flavor with the sweet and sour fruits. I think I love all of Ina's recipes but this one might be the best!

The Best Ever. I created an account just to vote on this recipe! It is absolutely the best apple crisp I've ever had. I've never put orange and lemon zest in my crisp before and I have to say, it really makes a huge difference. There is a subtle hint of citrus throughout and the tartness of the dried cranberries is a perfect balance against the sweet topping. I used granny smith apples because that's what looked the best in the market, and it's a true winner! Thank you, Ina!

WOW!! Absolutely a keeper recipe. Used ramekins and topped it with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Did not peel the apples or (red pears and loved having the skins on.

Delicious! Very easy for someone who doesnt bake. Next time I would cut back on the amount of sugar as it was very sweet. Also make way too much topping, will cut back on that next time.

So so easy! I ran out of nutmeg so I added more cinnamon and left out the cranberries because I didn't have any. Very tasty and perfect for fall apples, I may make it for Thanksgiving this year!

The topping is incredible. This recipe can also be adjusted for the seasons. Slightly more cinnamon and just apples in the fall, and a little more orange and lemon zest in the summer.

The topping, cranberries, and sauce is incredible and a basic recipe that can be used for a combination of fruits. I usually use all apples and it turns out perfect everytime. I go apple picking in the fall and freeze the sliced apples in portions for quick use all winter. Also, if you have a food processor the crumble topping is that much easier to make.
