Absolutely delicious - I was cleaning out the fridge and looked for a recipe that used an orange, apples and pears. The added cranberries were delicious and the topping beautifully crisp. Jessie, I used to live in Europe and still covert on a recipe I like. For the filling 100g of sugar and 42g of flour (I did not weigh the cranberries but just put in a full tea cup. Topping 212g flour, 150g granulated sugar, 150g brown sugar 115g of oatmeal and 227g of butter. Hope that helps Lesley

    Hi all,

I would love to make this recipe but I'm from Europe and here ingredients such as flour and sugar are calculated in kilograms.Ina however uses cup measurements so I have no idea how to convert that into kilograms.
Can anyone help me out please?
Thank you so much for your help on this.

I served this at a Ladies lunch. I prepared it in the morning and just popped it in the oven when they got there. Then I was able to "visit" instead of working in the kitchen. It was a wonderful homemade conclusion to a lovely lunch. The cranberries were a tart twist to a crisp. I will absolutely do this again.

Yummy. We used 4 pears, 2 empire apples, and ½ cup craisins. Also added a small pinch of ginger. Omitted the zests because of allergies. While preparing the topping soaked the fruits in bottled lemon juice with water and drained before adding to 8x8 pan. Only added 2 tablespoons of bottled lemon juice, might be tempted to use more next time. Made the full topping per recipe. Raves from the Hubby Tummy. Easy. Absolute keeper.

This is a wonderful and tasty change from plain old apple crisp. The pears and cranberries really added some zesty flavor to this crisp. I did not have individual ramekins, so I used a
9X13 glass pan and it worked just fine. In our family, we rate all new recipes, and this one was voted a "keeper" by everyone!

SOOO delicious! My husband loved it..he prefers apple pie over any dessert and absolutely loved this dessert because of the warm apples. I served it with vanilla bean ice cream and made it in the ramekins.

Delicious! I was disappointed because our guests didn't leave enough for leftovers. Realistically, double the prep time, hence my 4 star rating. From initially gathering the ingredients, it took me close to 45 minutes to get the crisp into the oven, and I am no kitchen rookie. I cut the pears into larger chunks than the apples, so they still held their shape. The cranberries are a must! Perfect served warm with good quality vanilla ice cream.

I made this recipe for my in-laws' Christmas Eve sit down dinner. It was a huge hit! I tripled the recipe for 40 servings and served it in individual ramekins to make it a little more special. Baking time was the same for the ramekins as making it in one dish. The mix of apples and pears is great, but if you don't like pears, it's equally delicious with just apples. Don't leave out the cranberries as they really add to the taste and visual interest of this dish. Depending on the fruit to topping ratio you prefer, you might not need to use all of the topping. This is one of my go-to recipes, it's foolproof and everyone always likes it!

Like others said, the hardest part of this recipe is all the peeling and dicing of the fruit...phew!

I made this dish for our Christmas Eve Dinner and served it warm with Vanilla Bean ice cream. Everyone loved it but I felt that there was something missing. I would have liked a bit more crunch in the texture so I think the next time I make this I will add chopped walnuts.
