The topping makes this dish - don't skip the kosher salt! The zest and tanginess make it so delicious. Huge hit at our Thanksgiving table!

Made this for a Thanksgiving celebration and it is DELICIOUS. I used Bartlett pears and Golden Delicious apples as I am not in a prime location for great produce. It was easy to make and simply wonderful. This is one I will make again and again and again...

Excellent combination of flavors. Didn't change a thing. Served warm with vanilla ice cream and it was a home run!

I just made this today...and It has to be one of my favorite things now... it is so delicious. I did change it alittle bit... I didn't have fresh pears so I used canned and I also used alittle brown sugar in the apple mixture and it made a wonderful caramel taste to it. Thanks for such a great recipe Ina :

I made this one day this fall. It was cold and rainy and I made it for my husband and my sister-in-law who weren't feeling quite up to par. They both loved it. I had never made apple crisp before. The recipe was easy and quick to make. It was wonderful and works great when you are craving some comfort food!

Made this for a dinner party the other night and guests raved. Did cut back the sugar, however (used Splenda to 1/4 cup in apple mixture, used all granny smith apples (omitted pears, and also cut back sugar in topping to 1/2 cup white and 1/4 cup brown. Was plenty sweet and perfect. Also used only 1 T. flour in crisp since I didn't use any pears and granny smith apples are fairly dry. Had satsuma oranges in house so used one for zest & juice-that helped too for added sweetness. Yummy and will be making for Thanksgiving.

This dessert is delicious; there's no question about it. Just be prepared for a lot of work. Peeling 10 pieces of fruit is no picnic! Still, this tastes great. You will impress yourself and anyone else who happens to get some.

After making them for the first time, I craved them every night for about 2 weeks. The crumble...the zest...the juices....yum! I make them for guests and I've brought them to friend and family dinners (just pop them in the oven when you begin dinner and everyone goes silent when they dig in and then don't stop talking about it when they're all done! Don't be scared to try different fruits and berries. I've tried plums, peaches, blueberries - all wonderful.

I've made my fair share of "crisp" desserts over the years, but this is the best one I've ever made or eaten. Love the extra flavor the cranberries give it, along with the lemon and orange zest. Will definitely be making this instead of pies for Thanksgiving this year.

Absolutely the best and tastiest crisp I've ever had. I can't stop talking about it. The hardest part was peeling and cutting up the fruit. Went together very easy.

The only change I made was to make the streusel by hand. I cut the butter into smaller pieces and used my hands to create crumbs.

    Great, wonderful recipe!
