For those who don't care for the honey taste, dark corn syrup (Karo should do the trick. I have a great recipe for Pecan Bars from a Southern Living cookbook and they are very similar except for the substitution of the Karo syrup for the honey. Also, lining your pan with foil will enable you to lift them out easily for cutting.

I'm going to make these again to put in tins for Christmas gifts at work. I did like the one person's idea of putting the pecan mix over the top of chocolate chips for candy. Also on the show Ina said to make sure to line the oven floor because of spill over...she was right! I did and it did!! Glad I followed her suggestion!

    Here is Ina's Ganache recipe:

    For the ganache:
4 ounces good semisweet chocolate chips
    1/4 cup heavy cream
    1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules

She may have doubled it on the show.

Loved the receipe, but where is the chocolate receipe you put on the bars?

Absolutely LOVED the pecan topping but the crust was WAY too buttery...almost tasteless. I would make these again in the future with a different crumb crust. Also much more time consuming than recipe stated.

Excellent tasting recipe, but watch out! If you don't build up the sides properly you'll have a 3 alarm caramel smoke out in your kitchen. I ended up rescuing the excess topping from the crust in order to stop the overflow. I then placed a teaspoon of milk chocolate chips into mini muffin pan liner/cups and spooned the excess nut mixture over them to make small candies...they were equally fabulous. When I save up a few more bucks I'll try this one again, and I'll eyeball the amounts to make sure it doesn't go over the sides.

Outstanding. The citrus really sets this recipe apart. These won't last long! Really worth the effort.

I made these for a catering job that I had and they were absolutely amazing. I wondered how easy they would be to cut and remove from pan but they cut beautifully. The only advice I would give is to be careful with the crust when forming into pan. It made a little too much so I had to remove some to fit the filling but the crust was very flavorful. I highly recommend this recipe!

I loved the squares but you didn't include the chocolate recipe that you dip the squares into.
I know it has chocolate chips, cream and instant coffee but the amount is what I don't know.

Easy to make and delicious. Received much praise for these yummy treats.

I made a terrible mess in the oven and my house got quite smoky. Next time I will line my stove with some aluminum foil.
