    This is such an amazing recipe!!! Went on to find a good roast chicken recipe and of course this one popped up. I love Ina and I love making all her stuff so I was happy to see her attach to this recipe. I used everything in the recipe except the fennel and the thyme (my family aren't big on ingredients like that. The grocery store didn't have a yellow onion, which was strange, so i just bought a red onion which i thought we delicious anyway. Let's just say in the past week, I've made this twice... it's THAT GOOD. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THIS!

    This chicken was delicious! First time I ever roasted a chicken, and it turned out perfectly! I poured a little olive oil in the cavity of the chicken, and some extra over the top. Browned perfectly and moist throughout.

    AMAZING! I've made this three times already in less than 2 months (once for a dinner party. I'm not much of a cook, but this was very easy to make. The veggies were absolutely delicious. I realize now that I forgot to pour olive oil and thyme over them, but they were still super flavorful. And I had never had fennel before this, but I loved it! And I usually don't like carrots, but these were so yummy...almost as good as the very juicy chicken! I'm definitely recommending this to everyone I know!

    This was the most delicious roasted chicken I've ever eaten! Crispy outside, moist inside, a hint of the lemon and garlic. I used fresh rosemary instead of thyme, because it grows outside my door. Couldn't have been easier to prepare, but is definitely company worthy! Thanks, Ina

    This recipe was easy and so delicious! The chicken was very moist and quite flavorful. This will be my go to roast chicken recipe!

    This was so delicious. I cook a lot but for some reason I've been scared to try a whole roast chicken. The only thing was I pulled it out too early...I figured because it was a 4lb. chicken that I would have to roast it for a shorter time. But misguessed and had to put it back in the oven after cutting into it. It still came out perfectly juicy. Also I used different root vegetable on the bottom with red beet, parsnips, potatoes, onion, and carrots. And used a tablespoon of EVOO and a tablespoon of melted butter for the chicken with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. So yummy!!!!

    Oh So Sad!!! I totally fubbed this receipe. The veggies were delicious...
    I will stick with store bought rottiserie chicken at half the cost and NO FUSS!

    This is easy and tastes fantastic. I actually made slits in the skin of the chicken and inserted many of the garlic cloves into these before baking.
