Completely and utterly fantastic!! "I'm goin' in!" That's what my daughter says as she stuffs the turkey! Our new Thanksgiving tradition. Two years ago I tried this for the first time with my daughter who always comes in town for the holiday. I thought I knew how to make a turkey as I've been making them for 25 years. I will never make turkey any other way. The ingredients sound simple but the result is fantastic. Don't change the recipe. It's perfect as is. The smell is awesome while it's roasting. Try it. You will love it. Thanks, Ina.

So I made this turkey recipe last year, it was great but I didn't get to get any, my family gobbled it all up. Which means it must be great and I'm also going to make it this year for the in-laws. If you love this recipe you should try her roasted chicken as well LOVED IT!

YUM! My turkey was almost 14 lbs - so I did it for 3 hours. I also filled the cavity with just lemon, thyme & sage. Still yummy and so easy too!

This is a wonderful recipe! I am the designated cook for my family for all holiday meals. However, I believe turkey is not just for holidays, so I use this recipe several times a year. I make a few slight changes: (1 I bake the Turkey in a Reynolds turkey size oven bag. (It holds all the juices and flavors in so you have lots of stock for gravy. (2 I use McCormick Turkey Rub on the outside of the turkey. (It makes the skin delicious! My favorite part of this recipe is that when you –”Stuff the cavity with the thyme, lemon, onion, quartered, and the garlic,” you don’t have to prepare the onion, garlic or lemon; you just quarter them and put them inside the turkey, skin and all. Enjoy!

This was the best turkey I have ever made! I have always baked my turkeys (no crispy brown skin. My teenage son has been asking me to roast the Thanksgiving turkey for the last few years. I used this recipe along with Alton Brown's brine and soaked overnight. I altered the veggies and used potatoes instead of the leaks. My family loved the turkey and the roasted veggies. I could not believe how easy it was and still juicy.

Perfect. Perfection. Perfect...ionary? I don't know. All I know is that I *always* undercook, I *always* have dry white meat and I *always* end up thinking "why did I get suckered into cooking a turkey again?!".

This time... juicy white meat, awesomely crispy skin, and done right when the little pop-up popped. I don't know if it was the kosher salt or the butter-rub, but whatever it was this came out fantastic. Thanks!

Out of the park! It was my responsibility of cooking the turkey this year and honestly I didn't know how it was going to turn out since I had never cooked one before. Well, I'll just say that by the end of the night there was none left! Big hit with this one.

This was my first time making a Thanksgiving turkey so I wanted something relatively easy. It was so delicious! It came out very moist and perfectly browned. We did have to add some stock to the pan because there weren't very many drippings. Also we left out the lemon and added some springs of fresh rosemary and a sliced red apple to the other stuffing ingrediants. Will definitely make this again.
