This recipe produces a moist and flavorful turkey very easily. Ina Garten, you are my favorite chef! Your recipes are always great! Thank you especially for this recipe and "Perfect Roast Chicken". Noreen McCafferty

Basic, simple, juicy and delicious. Notice the thick slices. Thin slicing drys out the meat. I cater holiday parties and the presentation is important. Thanks Ina. You are the best! I have created a food trivia game called Foodie Craze - www.triviacraze.com. Ina, I'd love to send you a game.

I have never ever cooked turkey before, and this was so easy, and my turkey came out juicy and delicious with a perfect skin. (I was half afraid of a "Christmas Vacation" outcome! I will definitely use this recipe for all future turkeys and whole roast chicken.

I used this recipe to cook my very first turkey, and didn't have high expectations, but I was very-very wrong. It came out absolutely awesome!!!
Ever since I've been using this recipe for cooking chicken, and it comes out soooooo good, every time. My husband doesn't like chicken, but when he is served this cone, he keeps telling me how lucky he is to be marreid to me.
Thank you!!!

We are trying to empty our freezer and decided to make a turkey but didn't want to make a big deal out of it since I'm 8 months pregnant and supposed to be off my feet. So, I looked for an easy recipe. I used dried herbs instead of fresh, again because we were trying to keep it simple and didn't want to make an extra trip to the store. It turned out so good. The turkey was not dry or bland at all. It had a perfect amount of seasonings in it. I was very pleased with the recipe and it made a busy day a little easier on me.

I'm a college student with limited cooking resources in my dorm. Before term ended, some friends and I decided to fix our own holiday meal for each other?I got assigned the turkey. I went straight to my Barefoot Contessa cookbooks because I've never been let down by an Ina recipe. I saw that I was familiar with all the ingredients, and the prep-work would be a doable, even in a dorm kitchenette. Once my bird was on the table, and we were all feasting?all of my picky college friends LOVED the turkey. It could not have been a better hit. Thanks, Ina, for helping make our special occasions even better.

Ina, I love your recipes and this was one of the best. My family loved the turkey.
I ran this same recipe off on December 5th and it called for 1 stick of butter. I thought that was too much and wound up freezing the balance which had been melted and which also included thyme lemon zest and lemon juice.
Why do they put the same recipe on with different ingredients.
Did anyone else have this problem?
