I don't normally come back to review, but this recipe was outstanding. I was shocked at the store to purchase Pine Nuts at around $15.00 for less than a pound, so the inclusion of walnuts with the pine nuts was quite a relief! I wasn't sure if my husband would like it because he isn't a fan of walnuts, but loves pine nuts, but he did! I toasted a few extra to sprinkle on top and had loads of basil out of my garden to use up. I didn't have to use as much olive oil, which was fine - but this recipe was absolutely over the top! Thank you again, Ina.. incredible.

Great recipe. Agree with most - used 4 big cloves garlic and 1 cup olive oil. Note: use the BEST olive oil and Parmesan cheese that you can find. It makes a big difference.

I agree, this was too much garlic. I also think it was too much olive oil. But with these ingredients you can't go wrong. I froze the leftovers into ice cubes and will add it to sauces and soups.

I have made this several times & always get RAVE reviews from those that have tried it. A co-worker has told me more than once that this is the best pesto he's ever had. I will say this, I do cut back on the amount of salt & garlic used. Really, I just used my own best judgment & some common sense when adding those 2 ingredients. Slather this pesto on sandwich size ciabatta bread with a slice each of garden fresh tomato & fresh mozzarella and have a heavenly summer lunch. You will not be disappointed!
Ina, you never fail to amaze & inspire me!!
