This was a big hit with my family. My son-in-law made a great suggestion. He said to use the crumb portion of the recipe and substitute rhubarb for the plums. Can't wait for my rhubarb to come in next spring to try it. I don't know how it can beat the great taste of the plums though. Thanks Ina for another great recipe

Simple fall-flavored recipe. Using ripe plums is essential. I added a bit of five-spice powder to the crumb for the topping - yum!

This tart came out so beautiful. Just like a tart in a fancy marketplace. Can substiute peaches, apples, cherries, or even apricots. This recipe is a definate keeper for the holidays.

This tart was soooo easy! I had never used my tart pan until making this dessert, and I see lots of use in its future! I made this for a dinner party and threw this together while baking my main course of mac and cheese (Ina's recipe too... Once the main was out, this went in. It was completed as we finished dinner and was the perfect ending to our fabulous meal!

I made this tart yesterday with peaches and it was excellent. After reading some of the reviews I put 2 cups of the crumbs on the bottom of a 9 1/2" springform pan and had plenty of crumbs for the top. I added a little cinnamon and just a dot of lemon juice to enhance the peaches. For making this for the first time to take to a dinner party, I was pretty impressed with myself. It was picture perfect. It was cooked for 45 minutes. Everyone loved the tart. Will definitely make it again with another fruit. The crust would also be excellent baked and then topping with lemon curd. Thanks Ina.

The tart is super easy to made and delicious but the recipe needs a couple changes to make it perfect. First, the crumb mixture needs a pinch of salt. This will enhance the sweet and nutty favor. Second, the tart will look prettier if you put less crumb on top of the fruit. With the amount of crumb suggested in the recipe, you can't possibly see the nicely arrange fruit beneath.

I have been looking sooo long for a plum tart recipe similar to what my mother made so many years ago. One bite of this warm, delicious tart took me back to my childhood, and the happy times with my family ! Thank you Ina !
