Ina, I followed your recipe tonight for a Christmas side dish... IT WAS AMAZING!. I followed your recipe to the "T", and it turned out perfect. I did limit the salt a bit, as Parmesan Cheese tends to be a bit salty, so I didn't add any additional. Other than that....PERFECT. You have clearly outdone yourself with this dish. Thank you!

Ina, we tried your potato bail recipe tonight and it was wonderful. I have a herb and vegetable garden and everything was fresh except the cream. I try new recipes for my husband and he thought it was extra special!! Thank you. We are 70 and 73 yrs. young and are still trying new recipes and yours are the best!! Rapid River, MI

These potatoes were wonderful! I chopped the basil after blanching and reduced the salt by half-fabulous! I will definitely make these again.

Great recipe. I used 3.25% milk instead of half/half. One note: The basil did not puree in the food processor (and I used the small bowl. The dish still tasted great but did not come out like in the picture. Instead, it looks like mashed potatoes with chopped basil.

Excellent! I may skip the blanching step next time and just add a couple of basil leaves to the potatoes while boiling. Not sure it was necessary, I also added a garlic clove to the water with the potatoes and used a food mill not a mixer to mash.

Was delicious! I did add garlic to the potato water. Recipe seemed written out of order. Putting up the water for basil first when that could be done while the potatoes are cooking is a waste of time. Also, you don't want to put potatoes in boiling water. With these changes the potatoes are great and take less time.

This is a great dish, and it does not need the garlic added--in my opinion. I added the garlic that some other members recommended, and it overpowered the whole dish. The next time I made it without, and it was much fresher tasting.

I thought the potatoes were tasteless. However, I would tweak it the next time as another writer did....some butter, and garlic. Even with all the basil I used (fresh from my garden I found the dish bland!
