it is tasty but you didnt taste the banana and it was overpowered by the orange. i am surprised that it turnedout that way because the reviews seemed pretty good >:/

This is very, very good. I omitted the orange zest and thoroughly pureed the banana before adding it to the rest of the mixture. The flavor of the tart was somewhat like a delicious, decadent banana pudding. The banana flavor is more pronounced than the pumpkin, and melds well with the buttery, sweet graham cracker crust and the whipped cream. The cinnamon adds alot to the flavor of the dessert, too. I almost omitted it from the crust but I'm glad I didn't. The texture of the tart was smooth and it held its shape well. This is one of those desserts with an unexpected and wonderful flavor that catches people by surprise. The first time you make this, don't leave out the banana.

I am going to make it tonight. However, I am a bit concerned. The recipe calls for unflavored gelatin. My boyfriend does not eat pork and most gelatin products contain pork in them. So, in my research I have found that arrowroot serves the same purpose as unflavored gelatin. My understanding is that the gelatin makes it set so it is required. Will using arrowroot affect the recipe?

I've made this two years in a row, and will continue to do so. Not sure how anyone could think the banana was overwhelming. In fact, the second time I made this I doubled the banana and thought it was perfect. Changes I made: doubled banana, used cinnamon graham crackers for crust and ommitted sugar, and ommitted the orange zest.

Loved, LOVED this recipe! Many of my friends said the banana and pumpkin combo sounded odd, but it truly works and is just delicious. What an easy tart (can make ahead and serve the next day, likely easy to transport if you're tasked with bringing dessert to a party, and no doubt something different. Ina produces yet another winning dish. What WOULD I do without her?!

Maybe it's just me, but I made this exactly as the recipe says and it tasted horrible! I could only eat a few bites and ended up throwing it in the trash. I'm really disappointed!
