I had this at a dinner party a few weeks ago. Yum! Made it myself for an early Thanksgiving dinner dessert. Double yum and really easy. Will be a permanent addition to the menu!

I have to admit I was a bit wary of mixing pumpkin with banana - but wow, this was great! It has become by go-to pie when I need something to bring to a party, but don't feel like baking. Easy to make the day before (just add the decorative topping right before you leave. I think this is the one pie that I get the most recipe copy requests for. It goes fast! I will often even bring two!

It's also good if you leave out the orange. Makes it a bit simpler, but in no way less tasty, I think. If I get excess, I put it in ramekins, cover with brown sugar, melt with a torch, and make a little brulee-like topping. Great little snack!

Wow, this is awesome! I don't get an overwhelming taste of orange at all. I think all of the flavors work great together. I am a huge fan of pumpkin pie and wanted to try something new and this was a winner. I have to say I'm very happy right now. Ina, will you be my BFF?

I've made this recipe two times. The first time, I made it to the exact specifications from the recipe. It looked stunning, but there were too many flavors. My guests and family (sadly were not fans of the banana, orange, pumpkin combo. The second time I made some changes. I used Back to Nature Madagascar Vanilla Wafers instead of the graham crackers for the tart crust. This was a good substitute. Then I omitted the orange and banana and did not sweeten the whipped cream. The tart came together nicely and the presentation was fabulous. The pumpkin mousse set and had a silky consistency, but it was way too sweet. If I attempt this recipe again, I will cut the brown sugar from 1 cup down to 2/3 cup. Nice idea, but maybe I'll just stick to pumpkin pie...

I made this lovely dessert for an elegant dinner party. Everyone loved it (even the self proclaimed non-pumpkin lovers!!. It has replaced the usual pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving! Don't hesitate to make it... it is a winner!

This was the best pumpkin tart ever! I didn't add the orange that it called for, but still LOVED IT, and so did everyone else at my Thanksgiving dinner!!! Thanks Ina:

I made Ina's Pumpkin Banana Mousse Tart for Thanksgiving, with two changes:
a I skipped the banana, and b I substituted gingersnap crumbs for the graham cracker crumbs.
My guests and I thought it was the best pumpkin dessert we had ever had -
definitely a keeper for the holidays!

This dessert looked beautiful, so one can imagine I was really excited to try it the next day (Thanksgiving. What a dissapointment. I couldn't taste the banana at all and the orange zest caused it to taste odd. If I were to try this again, I would omit the orange zest entirely as it creates a very conflicted and weird flavor. Maybe I added too much. I don't understand all of the five star ratings. . . What a shame. I was really looking forward to pumpkin dessert this Thanksgiving.

My husbands quote..."I've always liked pumpkin pie, but felt like I had to pile on the whipped topping to keep it from being too boring...this is the first pumpkin dessert that is excellent on it's own!" The banana and the orange rind really give the pumkin some zing. This recipe now has a permanent place on our TG table!
