These are some of the best oatmeal cookies I've made. I fancy myself a cook and not a baker & these come together with ease and yumminess!

I WATCHED YOUR PROGRAM YESTERDAY AND HAD TO MAKE THOSE COOKES RIGHT THEN. BUT I USED CRANRAISINS. I AGREE WITH YOU THOSE ROASTED PECANS MAKE ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.

I saw Ida make these cookies on TV today, and I just had to make them (as soon as her show was over, of course. They were Wonderful! I think the pecans really put them over the top. These were like none other I have made.
I will keep this recipe in the front of my book, and tell everyone about them.
Ida, YOU have done it again. Thank you for not giving up to find the BEST Oatmeal Cookie Recipe!!

I made these cookies with my thirteen year old grand-daughter. We both loved them. For such a good cookie, they are so easy to make. One thing that I did different was, before I added my rasins,I covered them in flour. I did this so the rasins would mix better in the dough.

I got this recipe from Ina's Back to Basics cookbook where she states she considers herself "an oatmeal cookie aficionado" because she's been "searching for decades for the perfect recipe." Well, Ina, you definitely found it! I, too, have tried many different oatmeal cookie recipes, but this one is THE BEST. These cookies are both crisp and chewy and the flavor of the toasted pecans and dark brown sugar really stand out. You can't eat just one! Thanks Ina!

Fantastic!! They were moist and delicious. I added 1/4 teaspoon of allspice and mace in addition to the cinnamon. These were great!

I used half rasins, half dried cherries, and toasted almonds, plused in a food processor, and then added to the mix. I also flattend some of the dough with a fork for a crunchier cookie. All loved the cookies and I had to make more! Thanks Ina*******
