This has to be one of the best soups I've ever made, and tasted. I'm Italian and I've never heard of this soup. My grandmother, mother and myself are great cooks, but nobody in the family has ever made this soup. I love Ina, and watch her show faithfully, when I saw her make this soup, I had to try it. What a success with my family, this soup taste like something that would be served in a four star restaurant. My husband (not Italian really doesn't care for soup, he tried this and had three bowls, all the while saying how delicious it was. I live in New England, where the weather can be harsh, today is one of those days. My beans are on the stove top and I will be making another batch of this delicious soup, which my husband is looking forward to. Thank you Ina.

I made this recipe for company and it was fabulous. Another perfect Ina recipe. This was also a lot of fun to make. A definite make again.

I fully agree with everone else even to the weather
perfect aspect. The soup is wonderful but it took
quite a bit of time to make--I am NOT a 30 minute
person. If anyone can wash 3 kinds of kale and all
the other prep in 10 minutes I give them great
credit. I also have a very small old San Francisco
kitchen and this takes space. I will make it again for sure with a better road map for me.

Made this today while it snowed outside. It was delicious. The only changes I made were I used sweet italian sausage instead of pancetta and I left the crust on the bread. Delicious! Will make again and again.

This soup was a big hit with my family. My husband and I both work out doors, and you know how cold New England weather can be. This soup was filling, and brimming with great flavor. Definitely one of the best soups I've ever made. Thanks Ina.

We watched Ina make this and then ran to the store to buy all the ingredients. I agree with the other poster, it did make the house smell wonderful! It was very thick, hearty and flavorful. We're definitely making this again!

This is a great rainy day soup. I omitted the bread, added in some fresh rosemary and included some zucchini & green beans. I really enjoyed the thickness the bean puree presented and overall it was a great soup! Especially with the cheese! :D

My husband saw Ina make this the other day on her show, and he begged me to make it because it looked so yummy (I was surprised because he's not a veggie guy at all. It's raining and cold out, so today was the perfect day for it. It was thick, hearty, healthy, and delicious. The best part was the way it made the house smell while it was cooking. Thanks, Ina--this is a keeper!
